I hope everyone is recovering like a champ and thinking about our next Chattajack! Yikes…
I often report my race result with none other than Larry Cain. He made some good comment:
“Thanks for the great report! You should copy it and paste it into the forum post on Chattajack where I think more people might see it. In particular your observations about nutrition are interesting. I don’t think anyone has broken it down as finely as you have, at least none that I have seen to date. “

So story goes like this…… Me and my draft partner at start looking at opposite direction and here it was 4min to start was like 1min warning. I had terrible start and at mile 4 I got blasted gust wind must be over 30mph +. I was close to the shore but I got hit hard and went down. I was cold but I end passing many of 14′ along the way. For times I though I may have some hypothermia issues but I was fine.
Entire race I kept good HR zone. First 50min I end up running hard in L4 but with cold weather I was flying with the current. In 6hr26 duration L2 -4hr23, L3- 1hr9 and L4- 50min. Respective I ran my L2 like I should and went well. Slowly but keep passing 14′ really mentally helpedl and pass few of my 12.6 in both genders. Consider terrible start and one dip I did exceptionally did well in my book.
Nutrion:
My original nutrition follows.:
Morning 850Cal/202g Carb
30min Pre 2x gel 180Cal/44g Carb,
2510Cal/606b Carb.
Contingency 1141Cal/237g Carb.
Actual race intake:
1246Cal/320g Carb with 2.25L of hydration usage from 4L +.9L(contingency). 320g Carb from 606g Carb.
2419Cal recored in my Garim.
Race + morning cal intake 2276cal
My deficit was 143cal including with my breakfast. It worked well with the plan. I know we all did drink less but I did force to drink so that body can create a heat.
I had 3 pee and I have learned my body along the way.My HR was going down and couldn’t go up till I peed. As soon as I peed I had full power back and speeds climb up. I never had to pee during the race in my entire sports racing so I learn something new.
All in all I was tired , quad was burning but no issues with knee and calf I had with my simulation session . I tape my knee and shoulder using new Virus compression pants. I was soar on my quad Sunday morning but I woke up actually 10times better than my Carolina Cup. I remember I drag myself to breakfast at Roadrunner. I think CJ training really step up a notch and feeling super stoked.
